Happy Father's Day...

This is the Father's Day card that I created for my Dad this year! The picture in the middle was painted by my mother, Phyllis Mae Richardson Fisher in 1981. The original is Acrylic on Wood.

My very first memory that
I have of my father is when we lived in Henderson, Nevada on Elm Street. I had to have been about 3 1/2 ~ 4 years old. Even though we have pictures, I can remember him working on his dune buggy and going to Sunrise Mountain to find these huge big white rocks that my parents put in the round flowerbed in the front yard, along with a fountain and pink primrose flowers. I remember him taking us to the A&W stand where we would get a papa, mama and two baby burgers along with A&W Rootbeer! And after church we would go to the Sizzler.

I also remember that he added an intercom system to our house on Elm Street that fed music outside to our plants, bushes, trees and us kids while we were playing in the yard. The music was set to a radio station called "Silver and Candlelight" and to this day I know the tunes to thousands of songs because of my Dad. The picture below is of my brother showing our Dad what he is going to do next to his Honda Dirt Bike! My bother has a dune buggy (or desert runner) too!

I was born at the Air Force Base at Henderson, NV! I loved your story. I had forgotten about the baby rootbeers.

I loved this post! Those are great memories, and I love the little details.

I had forgotten about A & W! We used to go to A&W on Sunday afternoons after playing tennis! And I haven't heard the word "Sizzler" in awhile, but my husband and I used to eat there all the time when we were in our first years of marriage.

Good memories you have Cousin Janey!

Great Father's day card Janey. My dad died with lung cancer but I always like to light a candle and remember the happy times we shared on Father's day.

Hi Cousin Sharon! I love having a place to write down my memories...they are all so special to me now that I am getting older!!!

Naomi, my heart goes out to you that your father is not here on earth anymore...he does however live in your heart and that is what matters most!!!
